Kunstdag Rotterdam

Op 11 maart was de Regionale Kunstdag te Rotterdam

Bij deze Kunstdag ben ik 2e geworden

impressie voor aanvang

Op elke Regionale Kunstdag exposeren 60 of 90 Nederlandse beeldend kunstenaars respectievelijk 120 of 180 kunstwerken. Door het grote aantal exposerende kunstenaars is een breed scala aan werken te zien. Naast veel realistische en abstracte schilderijen worden ook beelden van verschillende materialen en vaak ook keramiek, grafiek en textiel, geëxposeerd.

Het publiek kan tijdens de Regionale Kunstdagen zijn waardering over de geëxposeerde werken aangeven en  evenals de deskundige vakjury, daarmee bepalen welke kunstenaars de mogelijkheid krijgen om hun werk op de Nationale Kunstdagen te Amsterdam te exposeren.

Vanaf di 13/3 is er in het Nederlands Tegelmuseum te Otterlo de expositie 

Moderne quilts & Antieke tegels

De expositie omvat meer dan 110 quilts met titels die in veel gevallen de inspiratiebron van de maker onthullen

Vaak zijn ze ook gemaakt naar aanleiding van één of andere tegelimpressie

De expositie loopt t/m 28 mei 2012

2012 new projects

quilted hand for The International Quilt Festival Of Ireland

The exhibit will become an annual exhibit that will welcome quilters from all over the world. It will increase in size every year. The original idea and concept was that 1000 quilters from Ireland would participate. After many requests from else where now everyone can participate.

Guidelines:

All entries must be made of fabric and have been sewn by hand or machine. All entries must have the artists name, where you are from and a short welcome message and the date you created the block written or sewn onto the front of the block. Entries are also encouraged to be embellished with as much appliqué work as you like. All entries that are submitted become property of the IQFOI and will not be returned. Highlighted entries will be shown in our festival program, online and in print.

The blocks for this exhibit must be 10 inches square. These blocks can be made of any combination of green and white fabric with your hand traced in one color or the other on a contrasting green or white background. Blocks should be quilted with just the wadding behind, no backing, and no binding.

pour un événement collaboratif, convivial et évolutif.

 Cette année, le festival s’étoffe.

 Le PATCH sera exposé aux côtés d'installations d’artistes contemporains qui habilleront,

 du 26 mai au 24 Juin 2012, le magnifique Hospice Saint-Charles à Rosny-sur-Seine (Yvelines).

La Pecora Cornigliese

This is the wrap I made for La Pecora Cornigliese

This is a project due to the necessity to save a rare sheep breed native to the Appenini mountains, which was crossed in 1750 with the Merino breed. Therefore it produces wool with great quality.
The organisers of this project sent wool free of charge all over the world.
Everyone of the receivers will produce an object using any kind of technique, the wool can be dyed and mixed with different materials.
In March 2012 there will be a big show of all the works in Italy.

Totaal anders

Bij de wedstrijd Totaal anders ter gelegenheid van het 5 jarig bestaan van Naaimachine Totaal te Kerkrade heb ik de 2e prijs gewonnen bij de kleding met mijn tuniek Metamorfose

In the contest organised because of the five year anniversary of sewingmachine shop Totaal, I won second prize for clothing

Ik wilde contrast bereiken tussen het zwarte bovenstuk en de gekleurde rok, die geinspireerd is op de vleugels van een vlinder, de onderkant van de rok is bewust ongelijk

I tried to achieve a contrast between the black top en the colourful skirt, inspired by buttrefly wings, the skirt is oneven on purpose
